About

Alan Mac Simóin (1957-2018) was a political activist, trade unionist and social historian.

A member of Official Sinn Féin in his teens, he was subsequently a key figure in Irish anarchism – he helped to form the Dublin Anarchist Group (1978) later Anarchist Workers Alliance, and was a founding member of the Workers Solidarity Movement (1984).

Alan made many anarchist publications available digitally on his website, Irish Anarchist History. His document archive is held by Dublin City Library and Archives and accessible to the public there.
