Commentary From The Cedar Lounge Revolution

2nd December 2019

Adding to documents from more recent organisations that have been posted to the Archive in recent weeks many thanks to John Cunningham for forwarding this, a general letter to ‘unions, campaigns, community groups and political organisations’ accompanying the Campaign for an Independent Left bullet ‘Independent Left’.

The letter, from then Councillor Joan Collins (now TD), outlines the goals of the Campaign for an Independent Left for a ‘new party of working people, as an independent, class struggle, and democratic party’.

It notes the significance of the bulletin as part of ‘our efforts to engage in a friendly and non sectarian manner with others on the left’.

We’d very much like a copy of Independent Left for the Archive, and indeed any information on that publication would be appreciated.
